I can never go to Italy often enough. This time I visited new hotels and regions. An afternoon on a Vespa with a driver was the best way to get out of the city and see new sites!

Castel Porrona Tuscany - 2 yrs old in the heart of Tuscany. A thousand year old Medieval village with 25 converted rooms. This relais is an unusual stop on the way to Sienna. Outstanding food and service.

Villa Cora Florence - a magnificent mansion near the Boboli Gardens. The perfect place 10 minutes outside the city with a huge swimming pool to lounge around in the hot summer afternoons.

Villa Palazzo Aminata Stresa, Lake Maggiore. Beautiful views of the Italian Alps and the lakefront. Charming old world hotel.
